Summer of 2009: How Do I Live
It was the summer of 2009 when Glenn openly formalized his move into Dena's
one bedroom, 600 sq. ft. apartment in the barrio; where she apparently lived with friends waiting on Section 8 housing.
It was a shock for me to see my mate there, parking our Silverado truck along side her '95 Saturn.
Yet, even the cracks and potholes of the parking lot seemed like a reflection of the state of my life.
It was during this time that Glenn confessed his affair to me and then openly would tell me that he was spending a few days at her place and then come home for a few days.
When my friends and I would go there to talk to him, he would send her brothers outside - with their gold chains and pants hanging off their hips- to intimidate us into leaving by sitting on the hood of the car and rocking it. This is NOT the man I married. It was hurtful to hear Glenn dictate that he was staying with Dena for a few days and directly leaving for his July family reunion from her place and directly returning there when his flight landed at Sky Harbor.
In addition, Dena was blogging on her "My Space" page of how "her man" had returned home. And I just didn't see how a woman who's tagline is "What Goes Around Comes Around" could be bragging about sleeping with another woman's husband. Glenn and I were not yet even legally separated.
